This is a U.S. Martial Flintlock Pistol Model 1836 Water's Army model dated 1840 in all original flint. It is marked forward of the hammer with an eagle's head above A. Waters/Milbury, MS./1840 and
a letter "B" forward of that between the spring opening under the pan. The top of the barrel is marked with letters "U.S./LS/P".. There are two inspector's marks on the wood "NWP." in an oval cartouche
and "M.P.L." in rounded rectangle. The whole lock assembly is very nice. The barrel is mottled--most on the end. The wood nice with only minor dings. Some asking prices reportedly in the $35 hundred
range. This one only $1,950.00
